Zyn Player vs TiviMate: devices, features and pricing

Comparisons
A TV remote control lying on a wooden table, ready to choose between Zyn Player and TiviMate

Zyn Player and TiviMate are both IPTV players: apps that play the playlist you get from your own provider, with no channels included. The short version: both are Android apps. TiviMate IPTV Player is built for Android TV devices and lists multiview and recording among its features, while Zyn Player also runs on Android phones and tablets, lets you manage your playlists from a phone or computer, publishes fixed one-off prices and gives setup help on WhatsApp. Which one suits you depends mostly on the screens you watch on and the features you need.

How we compared Zyn Player and TiviMate

We are the Zyn Player team, so we have an obvious interest in this comparison. We limited ourselves to what each side publishes:

We didn't run lab tests or benchmarks, and we make no claim about either app's picture quality, speed or stability. Where an official source said nothing, the table says "Not stated officially". Apps and store listings change, so check the official pages yourself before you pay.

Device focus: Android TV only vs Android TV and phones

This is the biggest practical difference. As of October 31, 2026, both tivimate.com and the Google Play listing said the app is "intended for Android TV devices and is not optimized for phones and tablets." TiviMate IPTV Player is made for a TV screen and a remote.

On that date, TiviMate was available in three official ways:

  • Google Play, where the listing showed 5M+ downloads, in-app purchases and a last update on June 22, 2026.
  • A direct APK from tivimate.com/apk. The site says this version "has fewer restrictions and checks for updates."
  • A Downloader code (272483) published on the official site, a shortcut for fetching that APK with the Downloader app on a TV device.

A separate app, TiviMate Companion, is on Google Play. It isn't a player: it unlocks Premium on devices without Google Play and manages the devices you've activated. We didn't verify an Amazon Appstore listing, and the official site listed no app for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Samsung or LG TVs.

Zyn Player is an Android app too: it runs on Android phones and tablets, Android TV and Google TV, and Fire TV Stick, with a layout that works with a remote and with touch. It isn't in any app store yet. To get it, you message the team on WhatsApp through the contact page, and they reply with how to install it on your device. Like TiviMate, it has no version for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Samsung or LG TVs, or computers.

In practice: if every screen in your home is an Android TV or Google TV device, both apps fit. If an Android phone or tablet is one of your main screens, it matters: TiviMate says it isn't optimised for them. If you watch on an iPhone, a Samsung or LG TV or a laptop, neither app is for you yet.

Features: what each app says it does

Both apps state the core features most people look for:

  • a TV guide (TiviMate describes an EPG grid);
  • catch-up, to go back to programmes that already aired;
  • favourites and search;
  • parental controls (ours is a parental lock);
  • more than one playlist.

As in most IPTV players, catch-up only works on channels where your provider keeps an archive, so check that with your provider first.

The differences are in what each side has and hasn't stated:

  • Multiview: TiviMate lists it; our app doesn't have it. If watching several channels on one screen matters to you, that favours TiviMate.
  • Recording: TiviMate lists it; our app doesn't record. If you want to record programmes, that favours TiviMate too.
  • Personalisation: TiviMate mentions customising the look and layout. We haven't stated that.
  • Stalker Portal: TiviMate's listing names it. Our app takes an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link, nothing else.
  • TV guide source: Zyn Player's guide comes with an Xtream Codes login; it doesn't load a separate EPG (XMLTV) link yet. TiviMate's official pages describe the EPG grid but didn't name XMLTV or separate guide links when we checked.
  • Playlists from your phone: Zyn Player shows a MAC address, a device key and a QR code; you can sign in on this site with them and add, edit, delete or PIN-lock playlists from a phone or computer instead of typing with a remote.
  • Sections: our app organises content into Live TV, Movies and Series.
  • Ads: Zyn Player has no ads. TiviMate's official pages didn't say either way.

New to the formats? Our guides to M3U playlists and Xtream Codes logins explain what your provider sends.

Pricing: published prices vs prices at checkout

TiviMate doesn't publish its prices officially. As of October 31, 2026, its Terms of Use described "a one-time lifetime purchase and one or more auto-renewing subscriptions" and said "prices are shown at the point of purchase." We haven't repeated prices from forums or resellers: they aren't official. We also couldn't verify officially whether there is a free tier, how long any trial lasts, or exactly which features need Premium. The homepage does say that "any paid subscription or premium upgrade unlocks application features only" and includes no channels or streams.

Zyn Player's prices are fixed and published, paid once with no auto-renewal:

PlanPriceLengthDevicesPer month (computed)
Essential€293 months1€9.67
Premium€4912 months1€4.08
Supreme€7912 months2€6.58
Ultimate€8924 months1€3.71

The 7-day free trial starts the first time you open the app. To buy a licence, you send the MAC address shown in the app on WhatsApp, and the team activates your device after payment. See all plans for details.

Refunds differ too. TiviMate purchases through a store follow that store's refund policy; for purchases on its website, the Terms say "all sales are final," with case-by-case discretion and statutory rights preserved. Ours are conditional and explained in the refund policy.

Setup: what getting started looks like

With TiviMate, per its official pages, you install the app from Google Play on an Android TV device or fetch the APK from tivimate.com (directly or with the Downloader code). The site offers account sign-up and log-in, you add your playlist (M3U, Xtream Codes or Stalker Portal), and Premium is bought in the app, through the Companion app, or on the website.

With Zyn Player, you message the team on WhatsApp, who reply with how to install it on your device. The trial starts in the app, which shows a MAC address and a device key. You add an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link in the app, or sign in on this site with the MAC address and device key and add it from your phone or computer. The setup guide walks through it, and its playlist section covers the fields.

Support

TiviMate offers support by e-mail, with the address published on its official site. Its official pages didn't state which languages support covers or how fast it replies.

The Zyn Player team gives setup help on WhatsApp, in English.

Zyn Player as a TiviMate alternative: who each app suits

Neither app suits everyone.

TiviMate is likely the better fit if:

  • you watch on Android TV or Google TV devices only, which is what TiviMate says it's built for;
  • you want multiview or recording, which TiviMate lists and Zyn Player doesn't have;
  • your provider gave you a Stalker Portal login;
  • you'd rather buy inside Google Play and rely on the store's refund policy;
  • you like fine-tuning the look and layout of your player.

Zyn Player is likely the better fit if:

  • an Android phone or tablet is one of your main screens, given that TiviMate says it isn't optimised for them;
  • you'd rather add and manage playlists from your phone or computer, or keep one locked with a PIN;
  • you want two devices on one licence (Supreme, €79 for 12 months);
  • you want to know the price up front, with a one-off payment and no auto-renewal;
  • you want a trial of a known length (7 days);
  • you'd like setup help by chat on WhatsApp, in English.

If you watch on an iPhone, a Samsung or LG TV or a computer, neither app has an official version for it. Because both apps accept M3U and Xtream Codes, the same playlist can usually go into either one. For a broader checklist, read how to choose an IPTV player.

Beware of lookalike apps and sites

Popular app names attract copies, and this applies to every player, ours included.

  • App Store listings: on October 31, 2026, the App Store had several apps with "TiviMate" in their name from developers unrelated to Armobsoft FZE, and none was linked from tivimate.com. They may be fine apps in their own right, but they aren't the TiviMate described here. Check the developer name before installing.
  • APK downloads: if you sideload TiviMate, get the file from tivimate.com/apk or its published Downloader code, not from mirror sites.
  • "Player with channels" offers: TiviMate's homepage says Premium includes no channels, and we include none either. A seller bundling either app with channels isn't making an official offer.
  • Zyn Player: the app isn't in any app store yet, so a store listing using the name today isn't from the team. Licences come only from the team on WhatsApp, reached through the contact page.

An IPTV player is legal software; what matters is whether your provider has the rights to what it streams. Our disclaimer covers how the app should be used.

FAQ

Is Zyn Player a good TiviMate alternative?
