Zyn Player and Xtream Codes: how the login works
By Zyn Player TeamPublished Updated
PlaylistsIf your IPTV provider sent you three short lines of text (a server address, a username and a password), you have an Xtream Codes login. This guide explains what Xtream Codes means for a viewer today, what each field looks like, how it compares with an M3U link, and how to enter it in Zyn Player, the IPTV player app for your own playlist, plus the most common errors and how to fix them.
One thing to be clear about first: Zyn Player is a player, not a provider. It includes no channels and sells no content or playlists. The login you type into it comes from the IPTV provider you chose.
What Xtream Codes means for a viewer today
The name comes from a piece of panel software that IPTV providers once used to manage subscriber accounts. Over time, the name stuck to the login format and to the way player apps talk to a provider's server, and many panels today use the same format. So when a provider says "here is your Xtream code", "your codes Xtream" or "your Xtreamcodes login", they almost always mean the same thing: the three fields below.
For a viewer, what matters is that an Xtream Codes login lets an IPTV player sign in to your provider's server and fetch the list your subscription gives you. If you're new to the topic, our introduction to IPTV explains how providers, playlists and players fit together.
The three fields of an Xtream Codes login
Every Xtream Codes login has the same three parts. Here is what they usually look like, with made-up values:
| Field | Example (fake) | What to watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Server URL | http://tv.example.net:8080 | Starts with http:// or https://, often ends with a port number |
| Username | viewer2481 | Case-sensitive; no spaces |
| Password | Qx7pL2mv | Case-sensitive; easy to mistype |
A typical message from a provider looks something like this:
Server URL: http://tv.example.net:8080
Username: viewer2481
Password: Qx7pL2mv
The server URL and its port
The server URL is the address of your provider's server. It has three pieces: the protocol (http:// or https://), the host name (tv.example.net in our example) and, very often, a port after a colon (:8080). If the provider includes a port, the player needs it, and leaving it out is one of the most common reasons a login fails. Enter the server URL in Zyn Player exactly as sent, port included.
Username and password
The username and password belong to your account with the provider, not to the player. They are case-sensitive, so Viewer2481 and viewer2481 are different usernames. Randomly generated ones are easy to mistype on a TV remote: a lowercase L and a capital I, or a zero and a capital O, look almost the same.
Xtream Codes vs an M3U link
Most providers can give you the same subscription in two forms: an Xtream Codes login or an M3U link. Many send both. The M3U link is a single long web address, and it often contains the very same username and password inside it, for example:
http://tv.example.net:8080/get.php?username=viewer2481&password=Qx7pL2mv&type=m3u_plus
Seen that way, the two are mostly different packaging for the same account. The differences are practical:
| Xtream Codes login | M3U link | |
|---|---|---|
| What you enter | Three short fields | One long address |
| Typing on a TV remote | Easier | Tedious and error-prone |
| How many players read it | Many IPTV players | Almost every IPTV player |
| If the password changes | Update one field | Ask for a new link |
In many players, an Xtream Codes login lets the app ask the server for categories and items separately, while an M3U link hands over the whole list at once. How that feels in practice depends on the player and the size of the list. Zyn Player accepts both forms, so you can use whichever your provider sent. For the link form, read our guide to using an M3U playlist with Zyn Player.
How to enter an Xtream Codes login in an IPTV player
The steps are similar in most IPTV player apps that accept this format:
- Open the player and choose the option to add a new playlist, source or account.
- Select the Xtream Codes type (some players label it "Xtream", "Xtream API" or "login").
- Enter the server URL, username and password exactly as your provider sent them.
- Give the playlist a name if the player asks for one, then save and let it load.
There is no special "Xtream Codes app" you need to install. An Xtream Codes player is simply any IPTV app that accepts this login format.
Adding an Xtream Codes login in Zyn Player
Zyn Player accepts an Xtream Codes login and an M3U link, and the Xtream Codes login also brings the TV guide. To add your login, open "Change Playlist" in the app, choose "Add Playlist", pick Xtream Codes and enter the three fields exactly as your provider sent them. Typing a password with a remote is slow, so you can also sign in on this website with the MAC address and device key the app shows and enter the login from your phone or computer; then open "Change Playlist" in the app to load it. The playlist section of the setup guide walks through the same steps.
Zyn Player isn't in any app store yet. To get it, message the team on WhatsApp through the contact page; they reply with how to install it on your device. To buy a licence, you send the MAC address shown in the app there, and the team activates your device after payment; setup help is available in the same chat, in English. If something in the app doesn't match what you expected, ask the Zyn Player team rather than guessing.
Common Xtream Codes login errors and how to fix them
When a login fails, the cause is usually one of a handful of things. Check them in this order:
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Can't connect at all | Missing or wrong port | Copy the server URL again, including :8080 or whatever port was sent |
| Can't connect at all | http vs https | Use the protocol exactly as sent; don't "upgrade" it yourself |
| "Invalid login" or similar | Trailing space, autocorrect, wrong capital letter | Retype each field slowly; check for spaces at the end |
| Worked before, stopped suddenly | Account expired | Check the end date with your provider |
| Plays on one screen, not another | Too many connections | Your provider's plan may allow fewer screens than you're using |
| Nothing loads, everything else checks out | Provider's server is down | Wait, then contact your provider |
Copy-pasting from a phone message can add a space at the end, and some keyboards capitalize the first letter automatically. These checks apply whether you use Zyn Player or another player.
The connection limit belongs to your provider's plan, not to the player: if your plan allows one connection and two devices stream at once, one is usually refused. A Zyn Player licence activates one device, or two with Supreme, which is separate from whatever your provider allows.
Keep your Xtream Codes login private
Your Xtream Codes login is the key to a subscription you paid for. Anyone who has the three fields can use your account, and because providers limit connections, a stranger using your login can lock you out of your own streams. A few habits help:
- Don't post screenshots of your playlist settings or your provider's message in forums or group chats.
- If you ask someone for help, including the Zyn Player team, cover the password unless they really need it.
- Don't reuse that password anywhere else.
- If you think the login has leaked, ask your provider to change the password, then update it in your player.
Is using an Xtream Codes login legal?
An IPTV player is legal software: like a web browser, it opens what you point it to. What matters legally is whether your provider has the rights to the content it streams, not the format of the login.
Zyn Player doesn't supply, sell or recommend any playlist. Choose a provider that is licensed to distribute what it offers in your country, and see our disclaimer for more on how the app should be used.
FAQ
What is an Xtream Codes login?
It's the set of three details an IPTV provider gives you so a player app can sign in to its server: a server URL (usually with a port), a username and a password. The name comes from panel software providers used to manage accounts.
What is the server URL in Xtream Codes?
It's the address of your provider's server, such as http://tv.example.net:8080 in our fake example. Enter it with the protocol and the port exactly as sent. A missing port is the most common reason a login fails.
Is Xtream Codes the same as an M3U link?
They usually point to the same account. An M3U link is one long address that often contains your username and password; an Xtream Codes login splits them into three fields. Many providers give you both.
Why does my Xtream Codes login not work?
Check the port, http vs https, stray spaces and capital letters first. If those are right, your account may have expired, you may be over your plan's connection limit, or the provider's server may be down.
Do I need a special Xtream Codes app?
No. Any IPTV player that accepts this login format works as an Xtream Codes player. Zyn Player is one of them, and it also accepts M3U links.
Does Zyn Player include an Xtream Codes subscription?
No. Zyn Player includes no channels and sells no playlists or logins. You bring the Xtream Codes login from your own provider and enter it in the app.
Getting started
An Xtream Codes login is just three fields, and most problems come down to a missing port, a stray space or an expired account. Once you have the login from your provider, adding it to Zyn Player takes a minute: add a playlist in the app or on this website, pick Xtream Codes and type the details exactly as sent. Zyn Player licences are paid once with no auto-renewal, from three months to two years. Compare the plans, follow the setup guide, or message us through the contact page to get the app.
Ready to try Zyn Player?
One payment for 3, 12 or 24 months, from €29. No channels included: bring your own playlist. Orders and setup help on WhatsApp.
